Car as art.
For one year Jenson Button finally had a car that was capable of winning a world whampionship. And he won that world championship.
Luciano Burti. 15 races, two teams, no points. Still waiting on his Formula One Rejects article to be submitted. Now a constant point scorer in his homeland of Brazil in Stock Cars.
For every Sebastian Vettel who really makes it in Formula One, there are plenty more Sebastien Buemis who don’t. That said, the life of a Le Mans driver and F1 test/reserve driver can’t be too shabby.
The prince of American motorsport, but a pauper of Europe.
I really think, given a proper opportunity and not a rubbish car (and don’t say blah blah Senna won races that was ruddy Senna and he’d beat anyone in any car) Michael could have shown the talent he showcased in the States. But it seemed like the entire thing was set up for him to fail. Only there because of Marlboro money, trying to live in America but race out of Europe, an uncompetitive car and being thrown in the number 2 slot in Senna’s team. There was no way that was ever gonna work. Poor Mike. But, hey, he did something Senna never did: finish on the podium at the Indy 500 three times.
