Act sharp, the boss in on the floor! Forghieri and Enzo have a conversation to themselves as Chris Amon sits at attention.
Before it was cool.
Forghieri, 1968. Before Adrian Newey, before Gordon Murray and Patrick Head, there was Forghieri. Under his guiding hand, Ferrari won 7 constructors titles, as well as a World Sportscar Championship.
Chris Amon & Mauro Forghieri with the Ferrari 312B, in 1969.
I remember reading a quote from Forghieri, saying that he had designed the fastest car on the grid and with Chris Amon it should have easily won the championship for the New Zealand driver - however, he also designed it horrendously unreliable. Chris Amon never won a race in his career, let alone a championship, and Forghieri heaped the blame on himself.
Forghieri would go on to redeem himself by designing the 312T that brought titles to Niki Lauda and Jodi Scheckter.
