Sparks fly as Nige, Brundle and de Cesaris share the same piece of road at Japan in 1989. A race better known for a collision between a pair of red-and-white cars.

Despite a promising pre-Formula One career, including a close last-minute loss to Ayrton Senna in the British Formula 3 series, Martin never found success in Formula One, never winning a race and never finishing higher than sixth in the World Championship, which he did in 1992 - when he was out shone by a young German named Shoe-maker or something or other.
Martin is best known now for being the voice of Formula One and his wonderful Grid Walks.
