Martin Brundle, 1989 Japanese Grand Prix.

Sparks fly as Nige, Brundle and de Cesaris share the same piece of road at Japan in 1989. A race better known for a collision between a pair of red-and-white cars.

Despite a promising pre-Formula One career, including a close last-minute loss to Ayrton Senna in the British Formula 3 series, Martin never found success in Formula One, never winning a race and never finishing higher than sixth in the World Championship, which he did in 1992 - when he was out shone by a young German named Shoe-maker or something or other.

Martin is best known now for being the voice of Formula One and his wonderful Grid Walks.

The year that raised cockpit sides arrived in Formula One (1996) and Martin Brundle proving the critics wrong - the B&H Jordan did meet the regulations. Martin walked away from this to do much more walking up and down the grid, followed by a camera man! :D

McLaren-Peugeot MP-4/9, 1994. Driven by Mika Hakkinen, Martin Brundle and Philippe Alliot. 4th in the constructor’s championship with 42 points. This was the last McLaren Formula One car made without a Mercedes engine.
